MEINNO Dawn
Morning Light That Comes With You
A light box asks you to sit in front of it for half an hour before the day has started. Dawn goes on your face instead, so those minutes happen while you're making coffee.
Two daylight-style modes, one button, 1.9 oz. Built for early starts, time zones, and the months when it's still dark at seven.
Wearable, Not Sit-Down
Same daylight-equivalent output. Completely different demand on your morning.
A desktop light box
Sit still for 30 minutes
- Lives on a desk and stays there
- You have to face it and stay put
- Doesn't travel
- Easy to skip on the mornings you're rushing
MEINNO Dawn
Wear it and get on with it
- Weighs 1.9 oz and sits above your eyes
- Cook, read, answer email, walk the dog
- Folds flat into a case the size of a glasses case
- Hard to skip, because it fits inside the morning you already have
Two Modes, Because People Differ
Some people get on better with the blue, others with the softer white. You get both and keep whichever suits you.
Bright and quick
A daylight-style wavelength commonly used to support alertness and circadian rhythm alignment. It sits in the 465–495nm range, well clear of the short-wave blue below 450nm that people worry about.
Gentler and longer
A broader daylight spectrum, softer than the blue mode and easier to sit with for a longer session. Useful if you find bright blue too much first thing.
Four Mornings It Was Built For
Different reasons, same twenty minutes.
Early starts
Up before the sun is
Wear it while the kettle boils. By the time the coffee's poured, the session is most of the way done.
Winter blues
When it's grey until ten
The months when daylight runs short are exactly when a morning light habit is easiest to justify and hardest to keep.
Time zones
Three cities in a week
Folds flat into a carry-on. Morning light in the local time zone, whichever one you woke up in.
A quiet start
Twenty minutes to yourself
On the porch with a mug, before the house wakes up. It doesn't have to be a chore to be a routine.
01 — The light
Daylight-equivalent, at eye level
Delivered close to the eye, the output is equivalent to a 10,000 lux light box — without the box. Brightness eases up over the first sixty seconds so nothing hits you cold at seven in the morning.
02 — The fit
Keep your glasses on
An open frame with no lenses and no glass, sitting above the brow on a soft rubber bridge. It clears most prescription and reading glasses, so you can read the paper through the whole session.
03 — The travel case
Folds into a glasses case
The silicone arms fold flat against the body and the zip case is smaller than a paperback. If your reason for buying this is time zones, that matters more than anything else on this page.

Isn't blue light supposed to be bad for you?
The concern people have read about is short-wave blue below 450nm. Dawn's blue mode peaks at 480nm — comfortably above that region, and the same part of the spectrum daylight itself is rich in. In testing, the retinal blue-light figure came out at 7.21 against a permitted limit of 100. See the numbers →
Blue mode or white mode?
Try each for a few days and keep the one that suits you. Blue is brighter and quicker; white is gentler over a longer session. People genuinely respond differently, which is why both are included rather than sold as separate products.
When should I use it?
Early morning, ideally between seven and nine. Fifteen to thirty minutes in blue mode, or thirty to forty-five in white. Avoid using it in the evening — daylight-style light late in the day works against the thing a morning routine is meant to support.
Does it do anything for my eyes?
No — that's what MEINNO Red and Duo are for. Dawn has no red light in it. It's built for mornings, not for close-up work.
Can I wear it over my glasses?
Yes. The open frame sits above the brow and clears most prescription and reading glasses. Contact lenses are no problem either — nothing touches your eyes.
Is it a medical device?
No. It isn't registered or marketed as one and it makes no medical claims. It's a general wellness product. If you have a concern about your sleep or mood, that's a conversation for a qualified professional rather than a purchase decision.
What if it doesn't work for me?
